Mt Tunbubudla, Glasshouse Mountains

Mt Tunbubudla is one of the lesser known peaks in the Glasshouse and is actually two peaks. We call them The Twins.

You will need a 4X4 to get there, or at the very least, a car with good clearance. To get to the trailhead, follow Eaton Rd (a 3km unsealed road) until you reach a T junction where there are heaps of powerlines. Park here and head towards the gate in front of you.

Follow the 4X4 trail on foot for 1.5km and then turn right (you’ll see the path) and head up between to the two peaks. There is a path leading off to the right of this trail which will lead you up the East Peak, or just continue on this trail up the West Peak. You’ll head up (and up and up) through rocky scrub and trees, until you reach the top and are rewarded with uninterrupted veiws north – you’ll see all of the other glasshouse from here!

Travel time from Brisbane: 1hr15min.
Trail Distance: Time: 5-6km & 1.5hrs.
Difficulty: Moderate.
